Capitalism Beyond the Crisis

Amartya Sen, is Lamont University Professor at Harvard. He received the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1998.
His most recent book is Identity and Violence: The Illusion of Destiny. (March 2009)

This article contains a bright reflection on the current economic crisis.
Citing brilliant economists since Adam Smith, John Maynard Keynes, Arthur Cecil Pigou, we can find some of the causes of the financial collapse we are experiencing, as well as an overview of the innovative ideas of Adam Smith, contained in his most famous book,  The Wealth of Nations, but until now little explored.

We are a young group of residents in Portugal worried about the world situation.
We like to talk, to think for ourselves, to discuss the reasons of things.
We think apart of the masses, we analyze the most varied situations in accordance with our opinion and not just moved by the media’s opinion.
This blog is a way of connecting to the world, to show that young people are not stopped, who worry about the future of the planet, with poverty, with lack of education, with social differences and with all the implications that the current financial crisis will have on our way of life.
